Yoga

Having  practiced yoga for 10 years before becoming a mother, the birth of my first child was the life changing event brought me deeper into yoga, and after the birth of my second child, I  took the Barefoot Movement Yoga Teacher Training. Once I completed my training, I spent a year sailing in Mexico, living on a boat with my partner and two children. During that time, I sought out and found multiple teaching opportunities in different foreign ports, including getting studio time at cruiser clubs and marinas like Club Cruceros in La Paz and Marina Riviera Nayarit in La Cruz. I was lucky enough to be able to do yoga on deserted beaches with my family. I am now an ERYT 500 & RPYT (registered prenatal yoga teacher) through Yoga Alliance as well as a YACEP (yoga alliance continuing education provider) Which allows me teach other teachers and provide continuing education credits (CEUs).

Teaching yoga allows me to share my experience with the practice: one that connects all aspects of self – body, mind, and breath – and that by connecting to oneself on a deeper level we also connect to the world around us in a more true way. It is my belief that incorporating the elements of yoga into daily life in small ways, even just taking the time to focus on breath for a moment or remembering posture, leads to a positive change in peoples lives. My teaching style is encouraging, supportive, and honest, creating a space where you can get to know your body and expand its capabilities, a safe and grounded environment in which to grow and learn.

Doula

My interest in birth began with the first time I witnessed a birth at home at the age of two. It was so peaceful that I fell asleep at the birth. I completed my birth doula training through DONA (Doulas of North America) with Debbie Lavin in 2015. In 2016 I completed my abortion doula training with the Bay Area Doula Project (BADP) and I continue to take trainings in postpartum care and pelvic floor health with Tema Mercado and Leslie Howard to gain experience to provide more complete care. I truly believe in the intuitive powers that women/birthing people posses. My goal is to support and empower women/birthing people and their partners through all the different choices that are involved with reproduction.
